Most of us love to travel and shop around the world; some of us consider travelling a treat, as a reward for our hard work. Travelling can provide great discovery, fun, and adventure. Visiting different countries can expand our knowledge of how other societies live, their culture, background, and history. Travelling can be expensive and sometimes impossible to do because of economic or personnel reasons. Due to this, I believe in10 years we would be able to implement a cyber tourism high tech tool that would allow us to travel and shop in a real time around the world. Cyber tourism tool will consist of real time satellite videos and 3D interactive mapping such as Google Earth.
Two forces that support this idea are tourism and global industries. The lack of high speed internet around the globe and international privacy laws are the two forces that impede its success. A Delphi method will be used for this high tech futuristic tool to develop, design, research, create a pilot study, and to analyze the results. The Delphi method will assist in identifying what is needed to successfully implement this project by obtaining collaboration from stakeholders around the world. Experts from world businesses, travel/tourism, Internet/SW, Satellite and from Google will be involved in this method in order to obtain a clear picture of how this project should be implemented in order for this high tech tool to be easily used by people like me and you around the world.
